This is why, at Cloudland Dental, you receive an oral cancer screening at each of your preventative appointments. The screening is done in one of two ways:
- Visual - which is a close examination of your tongue, cheeks, and oral tissues by our dentist and hygienists. Any abnormalities are carefully reviewed and depending on our findings, you may be referred to an oral surgeon or other specialist for additional follow-up.
- Oral ID Screening Tool - this technology allows us to see potential abnormalities long before they would be visible to the human eye. Because it is extremely important to catch any potential issues early, we highly recommend you be screened utilizing the Oral ID at least once per year.
